Texas couple arrested after dead baby found in their filthy apartment, police say

A Texas few was arrested this week after officers identified a lifeless 8-month-outdated infant in their apartment, law enforcement reported. 

The Odessa Law enforcement Section disclosed the ugly facts in an arrest affidavit, declaring the toddler had major bruising and inflammation to the still left side of his confront and head. There have been also multiple, more compact bruises together the prime of the dead baby’s cranium, police reported.

Officers stated the interior of the couple’s apartment was matted with what appeared to be dog feces on the flooring, in accordance to the affidavit. The couple reportedly tried using to clear up some of the mess prior to officers arrived. 

The baby’s father, 23-12 months-outdated Kameron Gammage, claimed the baby’s accidents ended up from the toddler hitting his head on a hard part of the interior of the crib. The affidavit said Gammage “remained unemotional and seemed to absence care about the incident all over call.”

The mom, 18-yr-previous Leyla Pierson, explained to officers she identified the toddler not respiratory and “frantically” went to Gammage to wake him up and explain to him about the infant – but he seemed uncaring, the affidavit stated. 

Pierson mentioned she explained to Gammage to phone 911 when he requested what he should do, the affidavit claimed. He reportedly grew to become apologetic to her and explained to her he hoped she wasn’t mad at him. Pierson also noted Gammage has “extraordinary anger issues and has not long ago killed several canine by strangulation.” 

Later, Gammage admitted conceded to these anger issues, telling investigators he experienced been dealing with a good deal of anxiety these days, together with the infant crying, the affidavit explained. 

According to the affidavit, Gammage explained to investigators the toddler would not quit crying, and he tried using to enjoy with him by tossing him in the air and catching him. He claimed he grew to become annoyed right after the baby wouldn’t end crying and “accidentally” dropped the child right after the fourth toss, the affidavit said. 

Pierson instructed police the pair did not find medical focus for the bruising, and the little one grew to become “fussy” over the following few of days, the affidavit said.

Gammage was arrested and is now billed with cash murder as very well as other fees from a different incident. Pierson was also arrested for knowing about the accidents to the toddler but neglecting to find health-related focus, police claimed.
